Avestin is injectable drug to show the progression of disease and cause vision los in patients with retinal problems due to diabetes,machler degeneration , and age-related retinal detachment

avestin prevents the growth of abnormal blood vessels

:Pre -injection care of Avestin

Use drug prescribed by doctor

Do not apply eye make up on women (3 days after injection)

Report any suspicious condition such as redness,painful and purulent discharge(on the day of injection ,if it does not already exist)

Having all of documents,forms and photos

:Care after injection of avestin

Do not need dressin eye

Regular use of drops prescribed by your doctor is essential

Do not wash the eyes 24-72 hours after injection

There is nothing wrong with taking acetaminophen tablets if you have pain

After injection, patient one day after injection then examined by a doctor 4-6weeks.and if the doctor decides,this operation will be repeated

Do not drive , if have blurred vision after injection

The injection may have side effects such as tear,redness and eye irritation

In case of symptoms such  as severe eye pain ,decreased vision, nausea, vomiting, increased number of flies, seeing sparks in the eyes, see a doctor  or eye emergency immediately

You should not rub your eyes after injection because it may corneal abrasion

To clean the tears,gently clean them on the cheeks

Important points about  how to use drops

Wash your hand with water and soap

Drow your down eyelid with your index finger and make a small hole ,so drops in the created hole

Avoid the contact of the dropper tip with hand or the edge of the eyelids

After dropping ,gently close your eyes for 2-3 mintues

If you need 2 or more drops,leave a gap of 5-10 minutes between each drop
